Grace Lee, Age 7

After learning about the African culture and the motifs on the side of a Djembe drum, Grace wanted to showcase the different cultural elements that spoke out to her. She hopes to bring awareness of how the African people and their surroundings are connected as one - in harmony, in respect, and in appreciation for one another.

AN   INVITATION   TO   CELEBRATE   OUR   YOUNG   ARTIST

AND   CHAMPION   A   CAUSE.

To remind us that not all princesses have to fit into the stereotypical Disney beauty standards, Caitlin's painting aims to empower all girls to recognize that they are unique, special, and valued. Inspired by Mother Nature, Aurora is a symbol of calm composure while the mountains stand for the power women hold - a presence that is not always recognized but always a force to be reckoned with. "I hope that gender equality will be more recognized around the world, and that more girls will have a brighter future." - Caitlin

The White Tiger is a critically endangered species because of deforestation and also due to poaching for their rare fur. Qin En wanted to portray the beauty of this majestic cat in the wild through the bond of a mother and its cub getting shade under a huge leaf. She hopes her painting will raise awareness of the importance of protecting animals in the wild.

Nikki Lim, Age 14

Nikki's artwork of an immersive forest uses darker tones and shadow play. It has a misty effect where one might feel lost, yet the elements of saturated glow from the light rays contrast it, symbolizing finding light in the dark and hope in the hopelessness. She wishes that her painting will help people learn to find the good in bad situations and to inspire optimism.

Ethan Ng, Age 11

Ethan hopes to inspire people to cherish the privilege of education.  Learning about the lack of proper education in less fortunate countries, he decided to paint an owl as it symbolizes both wisdom and knowledge. In our young artist's own words, "my work is to tell others that knowledge is power, and I hope to inspire other people to study."

"A fantasy wonderland filled with all of our favorite comfort food - from pizza to cake, meatballs to spaghetti," Mark, Marian, and Matthew invite everyone to appreciate the luxury of enjoying food that we love. They learned about the famine situation of poorer undeveloped countries and reflected that having three meals a day is a true blessing. Through a visual plethora of their favorite food, they want to share their blessings with those who are in need. Through the abundance of food in their wonderland, nobody will go hungry again.
