Jean-Anne Ho, Age 10

Due to the loss of habitat and lack of prey in the wild, cheetahs are becoming endangered. Inspired by learning about cheetahs, Jean-Anne wanted to portray its habitat, the savannah, from the perspective of the eye of a cheetah. With the rising sun as the iris, it depicts a new day for everyone and hopes of a fresh beginning for a better life.

Garage Sale -"Everything should not be wasted and we should cherish what we have." Le En wants to remind people to cherish what they have and not to forget to give love to everyone. The garage sale is filled with toys that we played with when we were younger, but what happens to them after? Instead of throwing them away, we can always donate to those in need and let the toys be re-used and cherished again. She believes that we can always find opportunities to bless other people.

27. 霞山水

霞 means the tint of a sunrise or sunset, and 山水 is a style of traditional Chinese painting that depicts the scenery of mountains and water. Ryanna incorporated these Chinese elements into her artwork to go back to her roots and embrace her mother tongue even though it was a subject that she struggled with. Like a sunset, her time studying Chinese in school has come to an end but like a sunrise, there will be fresh beginnings where she can embrace her culture. She hopes her painting will encourage people to always find hope despite the chaos life might bring.

Samuel Gay, Age 12

Inspired by his love for animals, and the painting style of Bob Ross, Samuel wanted to combine both elements to create an artwork that not only holds dear to his heart but also as a voice for awareness. He decided to paint a snow leopard because it is a vulnerable species found in Central and South Asia. He hopes that his painting will encourage people to cherish and protect the animals in the wild.

"Just as despair can come to one only from other human beings, hope can also be given to one only by other human beings" - Elie Wiesel. The crashing waves in the ocean are symbolic of chaos while the hands reaching out towards each other demonstrate people helping and supporting each other in moments of despair. Win Win hopes that this artwork will encourage people to help one another when facing difficulties.

Zoe wants people to know that beauty is both on the outside and on the inside. She says, "under the tree where the roots are, it is filled with so much more life than above ground. No matter how good looking or wealthy we are, where we come from, or what race we are, what matters on the inside is important too." She believes that we have a duty to help others if we are in a position to.
